The many and various ways I pass the time now has a new addition. Usually it involves drinking coffee whilst sitting at a computer keeping in touch with chums, or sipping wine sitting on our tiny terrace catching the sun, and wondering what else I can do to avoid any cleaning or tidying or putting away of stuff and things that aren't even MINE. And now I am going to type this blog. Provided that doesn't become a chore as well, in which case...

PS.  Update - Ghastly Godawful Gove has now received his FOURTH Vote of No Confidence from a teaching union, this time it is the organisation which represents 85% of Primary State School Head Teachers and 40% of Secondary State School Teachers.

  1. I thought it was just me, but evidently you too are a paid-up member of the "How Did They Ever Get Where They Are?" Club. There are some people, I guess I should be sorry to say but I'm not, that I just don't like on looks alone. I know nothing about Gove's politics but yes, his face is slapable - very. I usually find out that the folks I don't like on looks are also lacking in the character department. I just suppose they are a little askew inside and out.

    1. His foolish, chinless, curiously unformed blah-blah-blah (Oh Shut UP!) face is as irritating as Thatcher's voice, and in both cases it adds an extra loathsomeness factor to the ideology and content of what they say (which is already quite contemptible enough, thank you, the majority of the time).

These are two Tories I find it easy to get my head round detesting. This is not purely a political prejudice, as I have met some Tory MPs and even Cabinet Ministers I have found charming and affable and not at all lacking in interest in others.

But Gove and Thatcher both in their time have displayed the same insufferable conceit that impresses some, but alienates more, of the electorate. This is often not shown in General Election results, as our elections are for MPs in constiuencies, NOT a presidential race, so the party leader who forms the government may well not have received 50+% of the total votes cast.
